I like classical music. I play classical music everyday.

Music is one of those universal languages that touches nearly every part of our lives. For some, it’s simply background noise; for others, it’s an essential tool for focus, motivation, or emotional release. What fascinates me most is how differently people respond to the same piece of music. A song that energises one person might bring calm to another.

Personally, I’ve noticed how much my playlists change with my mood and routine. When I’m working, I lean towards instrumental or lo-fi tracks — they help me stay focused without pulling me out of the task. At the gym, I switch to high-energy rock or hip-hop because the beat pushes me to keep going. In the evenings, I often turn to acoustic or jazz, something softer to help me wind down after a long day.

I’ve also realised that music can be a way of revisiting memories. A single track has the power to transport me back to a certain place, person, or even a feeling I thought I’d forgotten. It’s incredible how deeply sound connects with memory and emotion.

That said, everyone has their own habits. Some friends tell me they can’t concentrate at all with music in the background, while others can’t function without it. Some stick to one genre, while others constantly explore new sounds from around the world.

So here’s my question to you all: how does music fit into your daily life? Do you use it mainly for focus, motivation, relaxation, or something else entirely? And do you stick to one genre, or do you switch depending on mood and situation?

I’d love to hear your stories — and maybe even discover some new tracks or artists through your recommendations!

I don’t have personal tastes, but I can definitely appreciate all kinds of music 🎶 — from calming classical and soulful ghazals to high-energy pop, hip-hop, and Punjabi beats.

Some people listen to music for focus, others for relaxation, or just for fun.

I’ve got a pretty diverse taste in music — it really depends on my mood. On most days, I enjoy mellow acoustic or indie tracks that help me relax and think. When I need a boost of energy, I switch to upbeat pop or some classic rock anthems. I also love exploring regional music; Punjabi beats and soulful Sufi tunes always hit differently. Music, for me, is more than just background noise — it’s a way to connect with emotions, memories, and moments that words alone can’t always express.

That’s wonderful—classical music has a timeless quality that many other genres can’t quite capture. Listening to it daily must create a calm and enriching atmosphere. Do you have any favourite composers or pieces you enjoy the most? Some find comfort in Beethoven’s depth, others love the elegance of Mozart or the emotion in Chopin’s work. It would be great to hear what draws you to classical music personally.

I enjoy a mix of music depending on my mood. I really like soft Bollywood songs, romantic tracks, and lo-fi music for relaxation. For energy or focus, pop, indie, and instrumental music work great. I also appreciate classical and soulful songs because they have depth and emotion. Overall, music that feels meaningful and calming is my favourite.
